    Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute) was established in 1958 and is one of the 156 key construction projects during China's "Fifth Five Year Plan" period. The predecessor of Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute was Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute, which was restructured into a limited liability company in 2001; In 2008, Xi'an Electric Porcelain Research Institute and Xi'an Power Capacitor Research Institute were merged to establish Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd; In 2021, the shareholding reform was carried out to establish Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd. Mainly engaged in electrical testing, measurement, certification, and technical consulting services, conducting related technical research, standard revision, industry management, and service work.

    Xigao Institute is a national high-voltage electrical equipment quality inspection and testing center, national insulator lightning arrester quality inspection and testing center, national power capacitor quality inspection and testing center, and national intelligent electrical equipment quality inspection and testing center authorized by the China National Certification and Accreditation Administration. It is the fifth (Xi'an) metrology and testing center of the machinery industry, responsible for national statutory metrological verification work, and is a product certification institution approved by the China National Certification and Accreditation Administration.

    Xigao Institute is a national engineering laboratory for high-voltage electrical equipment approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, a research and development (experimental) center for energy transmission and distribution equipment approved by the National Energy Administration, an industrial technology basic public service platform approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as a quality control and technical evaluation laboratory for high-voltage transmission and distribution equipment, a national measurement transformer type evaluation laboratory, a high-voltage transmission and transformation equipment engineering research center approved by the China Machinery Industry Federation, and a Shaanxi Province high-voltage transmission and transformation equipment engineering technology research center approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. In 2009, it was recognized as one of the first batch of high-tech enterprises in Shaanxi Province. In 2019, the State Administration for Market Regulation authorized the establishment of the "National Measurement and Testing Center for Transmission and Distribution Equipment Industry" and the "National Market Supervision Technology Innovation Center (Transmission and Transformation Equipment)".
